Through a series of explorative portraiture, this project investigate the representation of women in fashion magazines, dissecting the ‘picture perfect’ appearances that influence our cultures perception of beauty, and ultimately the perception of ourselves.
Past Projects
In Her Own Skin
This project delves into the theme of self-acceptance, exploring how society stigmatises the female body. Femininity in all forms is reclaimed by embracing the natural self, metaphorically emphasised through the use of nature-based imagery.
Period Poverty
Period poverty is described as having limited access to safe and sanitary period products, as well as inaccessibility to hygiene facilities and menstrual education. This project explores such topic, through a series of explorative images that delves into both period empowerment and menstrual taboos.
